History and Background
Faculty of Science Technology and Agriculture(STA), is the governmental institution of science education, applied science, agriculture, food science and computer science and technology of Yala Rajabhat University. The faculty of science has been developed systematically from the vocational school of agriculture, from Teacher Training School to Yala Teacher College and Yala Rajabhat University.
In 1963 Offered diploma in general science, physic, chemistry, biology and certificate of teaching in science.
In 1977 Undergraduate 2 year-program in Science, Bachelor degree in general science.
In 1979 Offered 2 year-degree program, bachelor degree in general science. Provided a training program for instructor and personnel in education.
In 1984 Offered higher certificate program in vocational technique, foods, animal husbandry, agriculture and 2 year-degree program, Bachelor degee in health education. 4 year-degrees program, Bachelor degree in general science.
In 1985 Offered a 4 year-program, Bachelor Degree in education, physical education. a 2 year-program, Bachelor degree in Industrial Arts, Agriculture Science and a higher certificate in science.
In 1988 Offered 4 year-degrees program, Bachelor degree in Industrial Art. Diploma in industrial Art, Science and Agriculture Technology.
In 1989 Offered 2 year-degree program, Bachelor in Agriculture, Diploma in Science and Health Education.
In 1991 Offered Bachelor Degree in Science, major subject in Health Education and 2 year Diploma Program in Computing.
In 1992 Offered a 4 year-program, Bachelor Degree in Agriculture Science and Diploma in Chemistry Labatory.
In 1993 Offered a 4 year-program, Bachelor Degree of Science in Applied Biology.
In 1997 Offered a 4 year-program, Bachelor Degree of Science in Environment Science. 2 year-degree program, Bachelor of Agriculture Technology and Computer Education.
In 1998 Offered a 4 year-program, Bachelor Degree of Science in Chemistry, Agriculture Technology and Computer Science. Since 1996 the department of Applied Biology, Chemistry and Computer Science have joined the training program “Produce Quality Teacher in Teaching Science and Mathematics” hosted by the Institute for Promotion of Teaching Science and Technology in order to train and encourage all teachers to the quality standard. Additionally, tofulfill the needs of the community.
In 2004 The faculty name changed to “Faculty of Science Technology and Agriculture” Rajabhat Institute was accredited legal status according to the Rajabhat University Act, after which, the Yala Rajabhat Institute became Yala Rajabhat University, YRU. Offering the undergraduate to PhD, and denounced all the diploma level.
In 2006 Faculty of Science Technology and Agriculture divided into 3 departments
1) Faculty of Science Technology and Agriculture office of Dean.
2) The department of undergraduate degree of science with 6 programs in mathematics and statistic, chemistry, biology, physics, microbiology, biology.
3) The department of applied science, undergraduate degree of science of 4 programs in computer science, information technology, health education, environmental science.
Agriculture technology (Rajabhat University Act,) consist of 2 programs Agricultural Technologyand food science.
In 2008 Offered undergraduate degree. Bachelor of science in Technology and Multimedia. The new developed program to prop the need of the region, the program is under the supervision of the applied science department.
In 2010 Offered Master of science “Master of Science Program in Environment and Development”. The program is under the supervision of Applied Science.
